HIGHLIGHTS: OUR FEEL GOOD IN THE FOREST NATURE JOURNALING IN 2024

Connecting with nature, creativity, and wellbeing: our highlights from a year of nature journaling at Guisborough Forest

This year, we had the pleasure of partnering with Forestry England to deliver a series of nature journaling sessions at Guisborough Forest in North Yorkshire as part of the “Feel Good in the Forest” initiative. What a year it’s been! We’ve been so fortunate to share our passion for nature creativity with incredible participants, helping them connect with nature, boost their wellbeing, and enjoy peaceful moments in a welcoming, judgement-free space.

Nature journaling invites us to slow down, immerse ourselves in nature, and let our creativity flow. Guisborough Forest has been the perfect setting for this, with its towering trees, diverse habitats, and peaceful trails for us to enjoy. Each session brought something special, whether it was the fresh greens of spring, the golden dappled sunlight of summer, or the fascinating fungi discoveries of autumn.

Throughout the year, we’ve cherished countless moments of joy and connection. It’s been particularly inspiring to see our participants’ unique perspectives come to life through their observations, sketches, and reflections. Many shared how calming and restorative the sessions were - a chance to reconnect with nature and with themselves in a supportive and creative space.

OUR 5 TOP HIGHLIGHTS

Here are five highlights from this year’s programme (though every session was special in its own way!):

5: SHARED KNOWLEDGE

Learning together, with participants offering their own expertise, insights, and book recommendations.

A huge thanks to Lorna from Forestry England for her steadfast support at every session, and for making these sessions possible. Feel Good in the Forest is a wonderful initiative, and we’ve enjoyed being able to contribute to its mission of promoting mental and physical health through nature-based activities.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited to bring nature creativity to even more people and places. If you’d like to join us for a session or learn about our workshops, stay tuned to our website and social media for updates. Here’s to more creativity, connection, and joyful moments in nature in the year ahead.
